December Updates

Well here we are in December, can you believe it?
Just as a quick update, Teresa and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary...  Where on earth did 2008 go...  or for that matter, where did the last 34 years go???
Alls well in the Walker house and just getting through my vacation.  So I thought this would be a good time to update the site...

The little ones had their outing on the Polar Express.  They got to meet Santa, his elves and Mrs Claus...  With Santa on the train, it will surely be a memory they will not forget...
Little Fred stayed home with Sobo and Paco, the rest of the kids had a blast..

On a different outing:
Once again we held the annual Crab and Steak fest,  this year there were 40 people show up for dinner..  The big change this year was we did the Prime Rib instead of steaks.  I enjoyed it a lot more because I was not cooking and enjoyed the company... It was my first shot at prime rib, it musta been pretty good because all 20 lbs were consumed along with the 40 lbs of Crab...   Needless to say the party was a success and everyone had a good time.  We had family, and adopted family this year and the mix was really very good.  Good conversation and food make for great memories.  Sometimes you wonder if it's worth it all to do these big dinners, however, all you have to do is attend one of them to know that it's the only thing you take with you.
THE MEMORIES!!!  SO yeah, I still think it's worth, so rest easy everyone, 2009 is on the horizon... LOL

As you can see by the young adults table,  there was plenty to go around.    The leftovers were the empty cookers, pots, pans and dishes..   So I would say the Prime Rib was a success...

Last on the list this month will be Hannah's birthday,  that is December 31st and will be in Next months updates...

So for now, I bid you all a Happy New Year.  May you find a way to get all of your wishes, but may God grant you all of your needs in 2009
Love ya all
Chuck

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a mad dash week of good food and family. My sister Suzie and her family came down from California to spend the holiday with us. Hannah was able to spend the week with her mama Aimee, as she likes to call her, and her sisters Jamie and Sierra. My other sister Robin was able to join us on Thanksgiving as well as Teresa's whole famly. Total we had 31 guests for Thanksgiving. Good thing we turned our 3 car garage into a big family room.

I'm sad to see Thanksgiving end and my family leave. Now it's back to work and demands of daily life, until the anual Crab Fest which I look forward to seeing all of you at.

September Updates

Well September is has come and gone and the big news is the BUG is back.. The new bug is so kind and helpful... It's nice to have her home.

Teresa and I both celebrated yet another birthday and moved toward the golden years.. Ha Ha, the kids are all still here... I think that's why we stay young, because we are to busy keeping the order to get old...

We had some sad news come to our family...
Lady, our black springer died last week and went home to join Samson...
She was the best kid dog anyone could ask for...
She was so kind and patient up to the day she left us....

A couple of days before she left, we got a new puppy to keep her company during the day,,, The New puppy is called "Bella" and she is one puppy that everyone loves...

I just finished a 2 week road trip going through Montana, Idaho, New Mexico and Wyoming. The Montana trip was really a lot of fun as well as getting a lot of work done..
Teresa has been home most of the time and has been remolding the house. She is preparing to go to Oakland California, home of the Oakland Raiders, my team... Needless to say I will be going with her on this trip...
Steph, Pat, and Cede are still living in Clinton. Pat travels long distances while Steph travels a lot of short distances.. Cede and Hannah are attending the "New Bill Gates" school in West Haven...
This school has every type of computer for the kids to learn on...
Ashley and Josh are having a party in October for all their friends, wonder who's cooking dinner and who's party the house will be at... Ashley is waiting for this Baby to pop out soon.. She is getting bigger every day...
Rach and Luke still live in Ogden... Rachael got her degree but is still going to school at Weber State university and Ogden high school... "As a teacher"... She likes the challenge but says all the kids are bigger than her... They just got back from Peru where they really learn to appreciate the life in america and the poverty in other countries..
Swen is in the pharmacy and loves his new job... All of his bosses love him too, they all want him to work at their different store... He is doing a really good job...
Joe is working at Warens in west roy, he is working on getting his driving permit back so he can drive himself around with out relying on friends and family...
Like I said at the top, Heather is back and has been the modle daughter and doing really well.. She is so much fun when she is good... She is going to high school now and has joined the swim team... She really is doing good...
Hannah is 8 going on 16... She is bossy and sassy, hopefully she grows out of this latest phase real fast...
Well if your reading all of this, you must be really bored... But until October comes and goes, take care all...

August Update

WOW, can you believe summer is almost over? What a wild ride it has been... So far I am still riding the FrontRunner and loving every minute of the ride... I ride down on the train and plan my day, on the way home I unwind... It is the most peaceful ride to and from work. If you live in or visit Utah, make a plan to ride our train... It's a great thing...
The garden is finally starting to grow, the herbs are doing fantastic, the tomatoes are doing ok and I wonder if I'm going to have any green peppers... (<: The front of the house looks like a wild flower picture out of an old magazine... I wish my garden did as well as the flowers...
Teresa is done with her travel for awhile and now is working on redesigning the house "Again"... New carpet couches and other decorations. She has the knack for decorations and remodels...
Steph and Cede went to ABQ to spend a week with Step's sister in Law.. I flew down with CEde then Steph joined her later... They really had a good time...
Chaz is out on his own now, he bought a place in Riverdale and him and Loni moved in... He is doing very well on his own...
Ashley is getting huge and she still has 3 months to go... It will be interesting to see just how big that baby gets...
Rachael and Luke just got back from Peru where they spent 6 weeks, what they did not know was Teresa completely redid their Living room, new floors, paint and a bar turned that living room into a whole new area... They really enjoyed the trip to Peru and loved coming home to their new room in the house..
Swenson got out of the grocery business and now is fully employed in the Drug business... He loves working in the Pharmacy and is thinking about going to school to be a Pharmacy manager...
Joe is trying to get on at Target Grocery store, I'll update you more on that next time...

Overall, life is good in the Walker home still, looking forward to fresh vegetables from the garden and BBQ's in the backyard... Hope to see a few of you there with us...
love ya all

Walker's family web site

Just for those who want to see updates and how the walkers are doing

Summer Time Fun

Well here it is mid July, Gardens in, pool is up and it summertime... It is pretty hot here in Utah... I did just a small garden this year, shuda planted more garlic... Just sitting here on the Deck watching Hannah swimming... Updates on the family... Chaz moved out and bought himself a little 3 bedroom for him an Loni... I flew to ABQ with Cede where her Mom joined us and is spending another week down there... Ash is getting bigger as each day passes and X-man knows it's a brother... Ash and Josh are good with another boy... Rachy and Luke just got back from Peru after spending 6 weeks roughing it... Rachy thinks she might just be a little bit of a "Fancy Girl" after that adventure... (<: Sweny is in the mist of switching careers... He decided to be a drug pusher like his sister Ashley... "Pharmacy"
Joe is is finding the grown up world to be a little rough and is learning fast that you need a little savings to make it all work...
Teresa is wrapping up her travels across the nation, none to soon, I think it was wearing her down a little... Me? I'm just working, and living one day at a time... Someday, I'll be like my bud Ernie and hit the golf courses two to five times a week...
Well that's all for now, catch you on the next update of Home with the Walker Family...

July Update

Well the yard is in this year and we finally have grass... The garden is not as big as it was last year, but then I moved the tomatoes to the hillside... (<:} The Ironic part here is I helped Ashley plant her tomatoes and those same plants from the same nursery bought on the same flat as mine, they are kicking my plants butt... She must have a natural green thumb... LOL

The floral pots around the deck are doing real good and the front gardens are going to be in full bloom in about 2 weeks.. That will make the front of the house AWSOME!!!

On the work note, I got UTA, "Transit in Utah" up and running in the office... We have a lot of the folks going green... There will be 15 of us riding the train together and then riding into the office in a big van... Ride time to the office will be a few minutes more, ride time home will be a KILLER savings... We pass the freeway every night and it is STOPPED, a 4 lane parking lot... Gotta love mass transit...

Anyhow, that's it for now..
Catch you on the next post...

1st Post

Ok guys, Ashley has convinced me that I need to get my Blog out there for all to see... Whatever!!!
The next step is to get my family to post Blogs and then Link it to mine... Yeah that would be the Walker Girls who are now married, and all their kids... SO, here we go...

As you can see by the posted PIC of my family, it ain't no small group... I have 8 kids, 3 and 1\2 grandkids and wife... Teresa and I live in a comfortable house and my 3 oldest girls have their own home... My sons all live at home with us... We all live in Utah in the northern sector...

I work for Kroger's and travel a lot around the western U.S. My favorite city to visit is Albuquerque, New Mexico... The Land of Enchantment... I've been working in the grocery industry for 33 years and love it... Teresa works at IRS, "YEAH the Tax Man", but she mostly helps out others by keeping the manuals up to date... She loves her job too.. 6 of the 8 kids are in the work force doing all kinds of things from Selling insurance,Programming, 2 are drug pushers - "Pharmacy Techs", Teaching, and Data communications...

Even though I passed the half century mark, my kids all keep me young at heart...
We all enjoy family get together, going on trips and BBQ's... Our latest fun thing to do is riding the train and seeing the sights and malls along the trail.

Well I think that's enough for the 1st post, catch you all on the next one...
You saw the family, here is the house...
